Mandy – for the Hamptons

Mandy was born in Belgium and we acquired her when she was 9 months old. I was serving in the U.S. Army at the time, stationed at N.A.T.O. Headquarters in Mons Belgium. She had been kept by another American family on a chain in the back yard and was completely undisciplined. She was on her way to the dog pound and this family asked if we wanted her. Of course she required a lot of love and work, but never have I had a better dog in my entire life. She was so smart and kind hearted and became a member of our family right away. Upon our return to the U.S. Mandy came with us and began life as an American dog. She lived out her allotted years in Litchfield Park Arizona, where she loved trips to the Salt River and forays into the desert. She endured a rattle snake bite to the face and we nearly lost her, but she pulled through and lived to the ripe old age of 13. It was doing her very favorite thing of swimming in the river that finally took her from us. While swimming in the Salt River, she suffered a stroke and as a final act of love to her, I took her to the vet and allowed her to escape this earth to her final reward. We will always remember her with love and respect, and We thank God everyday for allowing us the time we had with her. We love you Mandy, rest in peace our dear friend.
